DR. Conrad Murray has been found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jacksonand been remanded in custody.

The jury delivered their verdict at the Los Angeles County courthouse today, after just 10 hours of deliberation, following a six-week trial.

Dr. Murray had pleaded not guilty to causing Michael’s death on the morning of June 25 2009 by giving him the anesthetic Propofol as a sleeping aid.

The courtroom was hushed ahead of the verdict, as Superior Court judge Michael Pastor took to the stand just after one PM local time.

He called the jury to deliver their verdict, which he checked then passed to the court clerk who read it out.

“Superior court of California, Los Angeles County, the people of the state of California plaintiff Vs Conrad Robert Murray, defendant. “We the jury in the above mentioned actions, find the defendant guilty of the crime of involuntary manslaughter,” the clerk said.

Each juror was then asked to confirm their verdict individually.

Dr. Murray sat stony faced, silent and unmoving while the decision was read out.

Judge Pastor then thanked and dismissed the jury, and set the date for sentencing as 29th November. Dr Murray was then remanded in custody with no bail until the date of sentencing.

On his reasoning for this, Judge Pastor said, “Public safety demands that he is remanded. With no bail in the interim he is to be kept in the care and custody of the Los Angeles county Sherriff’s office.”

Outside the courthouse, fans and supporters of both Dr. Murray and Michael lined the streets outside, many holding placards.

Upon the delivery of the verdict, fans of Michael could be heard chanting “lock him up,” and “throw away the key.”

Watching the verdict in court were members of Michael’s family, including the later Thriller star’s father, Joe Jackson and mother Katherine.

Upon arriving to the court at midday local time Joe was asked how he felt, replying to E! News, “Not too good.”

Michael’s sister, La Toya Jackson, arrived a little later with Kathy and Rick Hilton, parents of socialite and reality TV star Paris Hilton.

“He went to the official MTV party at the Europa hotel with his girlfriend Selena Gomez before being smuggled out in secret.

“The ‘Beliebers’ were left waiting outside the front of the hotel hoping for a glimpse but he slipped through a side entrance used for kitchen deliveries and later left the same way.”

The 17-year-old pop star — who wore a leather outfit during the ceremony, which was hosted by his girlfriend Selena — traveled to London yesterday where he went on a private tour of soccer club Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium.

Later in the evening, he turned on the Christmas lights at Westfield shopping centre in west London and the new Westfield Stratford City shopping center, where he told thousands of his fans how he loves British girls.

“My favorite part of London is the girls,” he said.

KATY Perry needs a “liver transplant” after partying with Rihanna for her bachelorette bash.

The I Kissed a Girl singer — who is engaged to Russell Brand — enjoyed a “risque” night with around 25 female friends in Las Vegas on Saturday night, including her pop star pal, ahead of her upcoming wedding ceremony.

“Signing up for a liver transplant now,” Perry wrote on her Twitter page Sunday.

The group reportedly wore “typical risque bachelorette-themed party items” — with Katy wearing a hat and veil with the word “Bride” attached — as they enjoyed food and drinks at the Casino Tower and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The women then jumped into a stretch limousine and were driven to the MGM Grand, where they watched a performance of Ka by Cirque du Soleil.

After posing with the show’s dramatically-dressed gymnasts, the group returned to Katy’s hotel suite where they continued the party in private.

The 25-year-old beauty was even presented with an “erotic” cake to celebrate her last few weeks as a singleton.

Reminiscing back over the weekend, Katy wrote on Twitter, “That’s what you get for waking up in…”, a lyric from her hit single Waking Up in Vegas.

It has been a hectic few days for Katy, after her fiance Russell was arrested at Los Angeles International airport on Friday after attacking a paparazzi photographer for allegedly trying to take an intimate photo of her. Russell was handed the misdemeanor charge of simple battery.

Discussing the event on twitter, Katy wrote, “If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiance will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don’tf**kwiththeBrands (sic)”

JENNIFER Lopez has signed a one-year deal with American Idol worth a whopping $12m, TMZ reported Tuesday.

The singer-and-actress — who had been in negotiations with show bosses about joining the panel following the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi — will be at the judges’ table for auditions next week.

Deadline Hollywood claimed Monday that Lopez was asking for $15 million to star on the series plus a guaranteed motion picture deal and a number of TV pilots from the companies which produce Idol – Fox, Fremantle, and 19 Entertainment.

However, her demands for a film and TV programs were refused.

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler is also believed to be joining Lopez on the panel.

TMZ also claimed Tuesday that FOX executives believe someone has been trying to sabotage Idol by dragging Lopez through the mud.

Sources told the site that the negative stories about the star are being planted by people with a grudge against Idol and people who are in direct competition with the show.
